Tell the folks, Facebook has me locked out with the same dumb shit
they did last week. "Sign on with another device" (they know about)
and I have never used another device. Another PC, different browser
and different IP address did not fix anything. My wife's tablet was no
help either because they never saw that before. It may just be because
my land line is out of service too but I don't think they know that
number and it is voice only anyway. I am in the process of firing the
phone company. They told me to buy a magic jack. They can't sell me
any kind of phone service. Their cable us bad and the FIOS isn't
working yet. The internet on DSL is up and down all the time since
they tried to fix the phone.
Elon is looking better all the time.
Neighbor uses Starlink. Works good. Kind of pricey though. Maybe its
time to throw out your 300 b acoustic and get something more modern. :-)
I am on 10 M DSL right now but watching my mailbox for a Comcast modem
that is a few hundred M. Way more than I ever use.
If this was more reliable I would just stay with DSL but they can't
keep that running either. I think that copper infrastructure is
crumbling and they are not fixing it. I expect when the fiber gets
going, they will be here offering me some kind of deal.
Maybe Verizon internet?
I tried it, no joy and Mobile One just said no, they can't give me
service here. Verison should work with 3 bars but it didn't. I may
have just had a bad LTE router but the support sucked so bad I sent it
back and got a refund during the 10 day test time. It took 2 months to
get my refund tho. .
It is DSL, Comcast or Elon Musk.
The phone company is a no go until they get their fiber going. The 200
pair feeding this street is bad and they are not fixing it.
Comcast is, well, Comcast.
I did figure out the Facebook "sign on with another device" thing. I
got it again when I switched back to Comcast and it really just wanted
to see me sign on from my DSL account and acknowledge I moved. It is a
good thing that popped up while I still had both running.
I think the DSL was reporting me from different locations as they were
trying to sort out their problems and Facebook still remembered the
Comcast account.
When I had both running and was able to answer the question "do you
authorize this sigh on" (from both routers) it worked as designed but
there is a bug in their process. If I didn't still have my old ISP I
would have been locked out again.
